Navigating life is challenging as hell. Trying to make sense of family, relationships, medical care, and work environments while dealing with invisibility and microaggressions in cis-het environments is exhausting at best. If you’re feeling burnt out, haunted by past relationships, or just unsure of how to show up for your partner and for yourself, then you’re in the right place.
Hi, I’m Lindsay, a queer relationship and trauma therapist. I help individuals find clarity in their life and heal from past traumas using trauma-informed interventions like Internal Family Systems (IFS), EMDR, and attachment-based tools. For couples, I draw heavily on Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFCT) and help you reconnect and heal your relationship.
Using therapy tools from Internal Family Systems, I work with individuals to explore the different sides of themselves, those parts of us that often feel a odds with one another. In sessions, we work to build your confidence and self-leadership skills so that you can navigate life's challenges, relationships, and storms with confidence and courage. I am also trained in EMDR and have extensive experience supporting individuals looking to heal from traumatic experiences and relationships.
Another joy of mine is in my work with couples and partners. In the LGBTQ+ community, our relationships are vital, often times the only support we have in our lives. Our partners are those who get what it's like to be queer in this world, but sometimes we hit life's challenges head on and they find their way into our relationships. In my work with queer couples, together we explore those sticking points in the relationship. In sessions, partners practice communication skills and learn new ways to support one another when life becomes chaotic and stressful. Utilizing Emotionally Focused Therapy techniques, I support partners with practicing new skills and learning how to listen effectively and communicate needs with compassion and clarity.
Sometimes past traumas or current stressful situations with family, impact your relationship. Together, we explore these different layers to rebuild understanding and connection. In sessions, partners learn how to listen effectively and communicate needs with clarity and compassion.
Finding a therapist is hard. Finding a queer therapist, someone you don't have to explain yourself to, is even harder. I get that, and I see you. I’m glad you’re here. Message me today to get started on your journey forward.
